  • Loan Players are strictly prohibited.

Creating A Match With Your Opponent

First, you must add your opposition player with their PSN ID - this needs to happen at least an hour before round 1. You can find your opponents PNS on their FIFA Fridays profile. The matches will be played via the FUT Friendlies game mode. To access FUT Friendlies, you just need to go to the ‘Play’ tab and select ‘FUT Friendlies’. Next, select 'Play A Friend' and invite the player you are seeded against. Both opponents are responsible for contacting each other and playing the game. In the event you are unable to contact your partner after 5 minutes from when the round was supposed to start, a tournament admin will review it and decide whether to disqualify the opponent and allow you to advance.

Report Match Score

Match results must be reported on the FIFA Fridays Week 5 tournament page on fifafridays.com. To report the match results, both players must report the match score accurately as it was in game and depicted in the photo evidence. With the best of three games in the final and 3rd/4th place play-off, the overall result will be decided by matches won. For instance, if the first game finished 3-0, and the second game finished 3-0, the result must be inputted as 2-0 (two games to nil).

Win Condition

The winning player will be determined by the player who scores the most goals in the match. In the event that a match ends in a draw, the game will be decided by extra time and penalties.

Disputes

A game will be automatically disputed if players input scores that have a discrepancy, for example, if the home team inputs the score as 1-0, and the away team inputs the score as 1-2. In this instance, photo evidence must be provided to verify the correct result. If you want dispute a game based on matters outside of the actual score, players must notify a tournament official via the FIFA Fridays week 5 Discord channel that they would like to protest the game within 5 minutes before a new game has begun. Proof is needed to dispute matches.

Dispute Evidence

In the event of a dispute, please provide your video / screenshot proof. The issue must be clearly stated as well as the time in the video in which the issue occurred, and/or what the tournament official should be looking for in the picture/video.

Platform

Players can only participate if they have a PlayStation 4 / 5, a copy of FIFA 21 (PS4 edition), a PSN account, a working internet connection, and an Ultimate Team that meets the requirements set out in the Squad Build rules. Cross platform with the PS5 game is not permitted.

Default Start Time

All round one (1) matches have the same default start time - 18th December 2020 at 13:00 GMT. After round one (1), all matches have a unique default start time that is dependent upon the time at which the teams’ previous round results were submitted. Matches must be started by their default start time and played until completion. Postponing matches is only at the discretion of Online Tournament staff. After 5 minutes when a game hasn't been made, and the opposition player isn't responding, a tournament admin will review whether to disqualify the non-communicative player and advance their communicative player.

Seeding

Players will be randomly seeded at the close of registration.

Warm-up

No warm-up or practice games are permitted once the match’s first game has begun. If a match is played before the scheduled time between any players in the tournament, it will not be considered a warm-up and will count as the official results.

Delays

Players may not delay the start of a match beyond its scheduled start time, without the approval of a tournament official. Teams may delay a match between games for up to five minutes. Teams can request that a tournament official enforce this five minute time limit. After five minutes of a tournament official enforced delay, if a player is not able to start the match, a tournament admin will review whether to disqualify the player and allow the opposing player to advance.

Lag

Replays will not be issued for lag.

Disconnections

If one player disconnects due to bad internet connection before the full 90 in-game minutes are played, the players will be required to start a second match and play the remaining amount of minutes from the original match. Players will be responsible for taking evidence of the result and end-time from the first game, as well as the result and end-time of the second game. If this occurs more than once, tournament support should be contacted. If a player disconnects and isn't contactable for 5 minutes after disconnection, the tournament admin will review whether to disqualify the player, and allow the opposing player to advance.

No Shows

The No Show grace period time is 5 minutes after the match’s original start time. For example, if a match is scheduled for 1:00 PM, the no show time for this match would be 1:05 PM. Prior to any forfeits being made, a tournament admin must confirm that a player has failed to show up for the match.

Tournament No Show Procedure

A tournament admin will contact the player that has failed to show up through the FIFA Fridays week 5 Discord server. If we are unable to contact you through the Discord, you will be contacted via e-mail.

Time Limit

Both teams must report the match results within 5 minutes of its completion. Failure to report the match results on time or respond to any messages that you receive from a tournament official may result in you receiving the loss.

Cheating

Breaking any rule and any form of cheating, glitching, abusing in-game mechanics, or unsportsmanlike behavior may result in a forfeit of a game, match, or ban from FIFA Fridays. Cheating, glitching, and abusing in-game mechanics accusations must be verified by a tournament official.
